Happy Birthday Melyssa!

Today just happens to be Melyssa's birthday, and those of us who are blessed to be on her Whimsie Doodles design team, are throwing her a blog hop birthday party. Or as our DT coordinator Nikki likes to call it - Operation Birthday.

Melyssa is such a sweetheart to work with; kind and generous to boot. I was blessed to have her as a member of my ShortCuts design team, then astounded when I was chosen to be on her Whimsie Doodles team. If you have never checked out her blog, you should stop by there right now. Not only does she illustrate adorable images for her stamp line, but she is on many design teams herself and her creations are always gorgeous.

The card I made for Melyssa, which I hope reached Canada before this post does, features a few of the rubber stamps from Whimsie Doodles' Have Cake set. I used the two pennant stamps and paper pieced the banner. This was placed on top of the ledger paper that had been die cut and stamped with one of the many sentiments in the set.

I hope you will stop by and wish her a 'Happy Birthday' and don't forget to check out the cards from the other Doodlelicious Divas...

Just the details… (1) I covered a tiny clothespin with yellow patterned paper, (2) twine was strung through the pennants and the ends were knotted, (3) using my sewing machine I stitched around the circle focal point, as well as the scalloped strip across the center, (4) to coordinate the gems to the card I used my COPIC markers to color clear gems, then placed them below the sentiment and (5) stamped a number border along the bottom edge of a ledger paper scrap, then adhered it to the inside for the personal note.

And now a SPECIAL OFFER for fans and readers of my blog: Use the coupon code below (ALICIA10), the next time you shop at the Whimsie Doodles Online Store and receive 10% OFF your order!

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, comments are greatly appreciated!
