As I mentioned on Sunday, DRS Designs is sponsoring the 365 Cards blog this week. All week long our design team, as well as the 365 Cards design team, will be sharing projects using the newest challenges and DRS Designs stamps. If you play along you may be entered to win a $10 Gift Voucher to the DRS Designs online store!! Make sure to check out THIS post for all of the details.
For my card today I have based my layout on the 365 Cards sketch challenge from Sunday. The focal point, using Joyful Christmas Mouse (H351), was stamped in brown ink, then colored with COPIC markers. For a little sparkle I added a red gem over the berries on the holly. The image was mounted on a brown scalloped oval, then placed on the background.
The 'secondary' challenge for today was to use 3 different patterned papers, with no blank space, in the background. DRS Designs has so many great stamps for making your own background papers, so I chose to create patterned papers. I chose three different shades of cardstock, stamped the Holly Background (H365) in Versamark ink, repeatedly then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally red gems were adhered to the berries on a few of the 'patterned paper' holly leaves.
Make sure to check out what the rest of the DRS Designs DT is up to this week. All of their blogs are linked to the left.
