Asian Fan Card - Whimsie Doodles

ETA: This is my 3rd post for the day, make sure to scroll down to see my Sentimental Sundays post, as well as the Card Tag Round 4 results!

Happy Sunday!! I hope your week has been a good one. For my post today I am sharing a card that I created using one of the newest Whimsie Doodles digital stamps - Miyako Fan.

I decided to go for a Distressed Elegant look for this card (can you even combine those two?!). I kept the colors very simple, just using Ivory and Burgundy. Since the digital stamp was printed onto a white cardstock I used Memento Desert Sand ink to sponge over the image and the sentiment (which was stamped in Rich Cocoa).

The background was embossed with the Textile embossing folder and I inked over that with the Desert Sand so the design would stand out more. The 'frame' on the sentiment was made using some burgundy lace I had in my stash. I just put adhesive on the back along all 4 sides, then placed the ribbon so only half of its width is showing from the front.

For some added sparkle I used my Sakura Stardust pen to color in parts of Miyako's kimono and the last word ('masterpiece') of the sentiment. Three gems were placed at the top right of the image block for some final bling.

Challenges used for this card:
Splitcoast Stampers Dare to Get Dirty: DTGD10craftycaro, DTGD10AmberDawn01 & DTGD10StamperSharon
