Artful INKables Think Ink #23 - Anything But A Card in Red, White & Blue

For the latest Think INK challenge on the Artful INKables blog, Patti wants us to create Anything But A Card Using Red, White & Blue. Although I know the 4th of July is coming up, and those are the standard colors for the holiday, I wanted to create something non-patriotic. Hence the altered frame shown here.

Using the Artful INKables' Newborn Blessings set I created this cute little frame. The colors would be good for a nautical-themed room, especially since I used crackle paint to 'weather' the frame a bit. For the layout I used clean&simple's Fall To Layout #95 for inspiration.

To create the focal point I stamped the 'It's a Boy' sentiment from the set multiple times on the punched out circle. To tie in all of the colors one copy of the sentiment was stamped in red. I used some polka-dotted ribbon to tie in the embossed red cardstock strip. Finally I adhered the embellishment over the ribbon using Dimensionals.

One of the nice things about this piece is after the little guy isn't much of a baby any longer, the decorated card can be removed and a photo can be inserted in its place. The frame will grow up too.

Make sure to check out the challenge post and find out how you can win a grab bag of AI stamps. You don't have to use AI images, but you certainly can.
