Sentimental Sundays #3 - New Beginnings

It is time for another fun challenge at Sentimental Sundays and my first as a design team member!! This week's challenge is to create a card for a "New Beginning" that uses a sentiment/quote.

Since there are so many different types of 'New Beginnings' I thought I would use this Thoreau quote from Cornish Heritage Farms' Motivational Centers for the focal point of my card. This card could be for a graduate, a friend who is starting a new job, a family member who is returning to school or someone who is embarking on a new path in life.

The layout for this card came from Kazan's Sketch #52 at the 2 Sketches 4 You blog. I thought this layout kept the focus on the sentiment, but I was also able to add some strips of patterned paper. The paper piercing was done freehand around the die-cut sentiment.

Make sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays post to see what the other artists did for this great challenge and to download the FREE New Beginnings Sentiment set that Ann created!!

Challenges used for this card:
Sentimental Sundays #3 - New Beginnings
2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan #52

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, comments are greatly appreciated!

Rubber Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms (Motivational Centers); Patterned Paper: DCWV (Linen Closet); Cardstock: Wausau (Kraft), Neenah (Natural Ice); Die Cut: Spellbinders (Labels 8); Border Punch: Stampin' Up! (Scalloped)

  11. I've been admiring your cards for a long time (yes, I confess being a lurker, sorry, lol). I love your skill of creating layouts and defining layers and making every single element of the card count. And that you are not afraid of "white space".
This is an absolutely perfect creation!
